Biography

Olga Calado is a London-based painter who creates realistic oil paintings on canvas. Her work explores themes of beaches, sands, and dune landscapes. Olga grew up in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Spain, next to Doñana National Park and the mouth of the Guadalquivir River. There she drew deep and lasting inspiration from the coastal environment.

Following her training in technical drawing, perspective, volume techniques and complex color composition at Francisco Pacheco High School, she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Philology from Queen Mary University of London. She then continued her art education at The Prince Foundation in London, where she studied Old Master painting techniques.

Olga Calado is a juried member of the International Guild of Realism in Arizona, USA. Her art is considered part of the representative style within the Ecological Art Movement and has been exhibited in both commercial galleries and institutional museums, such as Tate Modern and the European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM). Her works have been widely exhibited in her home city of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, with additional shows in London, Bolonia and Barcelona. Calado’s paintings can be found in many private collections around the world.
